A Place to Think
Why I started this site, and what I hope to write about.
I've been meaning to start writing for a while now — not for any particular audience, but as a practice. A way to slow down and think carefully about things I care about.
Why write?
In a world of threads and hot takes, long-form writing still has value. It forces you to think clearly. You can't hand-wave past the hard parts when you have to explain something in full paragraphs.
The discipline of writing something down is the first step toward making it happen. — Lee Iacocca
There's a difference between having an opinion and having a thought. An opinion is instant. A thought takes time. Writing is how I try to move from one to the other.
What I'll write about
This site will be a home for essays on whatever I'm thinking about — books I'm reading, questions about law and how it shapes society, observations about culture, art, and the ideas that connect them.
The goal isn't to publish on a schedule. It's to write when I have something worth saying.
If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. More to come.
